A thank you note to the Kable Brothers Company

The bronze marker on the rock located behind the band shell on the campus and in front of the community gym reads:
1948
50th anniversary
Kable Brothers Company
In grateful appreciation of the contribution made by its co-founders Harvey and Harry Kable, to the printing industry and the life of this community, their giving spirit has set a high standard of enterprise, integrity and kindness to our American way of life.
Erected by the businessmen's league of Mt. Morris, August 28, 1948.

Lynne sent in this photo and reports she doesn't remember the dedication and wonders if anyone else does.

A Thank you for all those years of Jobs- for generations of family member....which in turn provided pretty little homes, good educations and childhoolds that others will never experience..once upon a time...the world was sweeter than we knew-everything was ours-how happy we were then..but somehow once upon a time never comes again..those are words from a song in a long since failed broadway musical, I just happend to see a long time ago before it folded-bittersweet now the words ring in our ears, those of us who lived here then. With the loss of 400 jobs and the sad fact that it will all be gone soon...this photo has new meaning-Thanks Kable Printing-you had a good run and we are grateful,too....

Nicely said. It's always good to be grateful, even if sad about current events.
